My journey to Black Sheep to Belonging

Discover the personal story and heartfelt mission behind Black Sheep to Belonging. I'm here to share my experiences and how they shaped my dedication to helping you find your way.

From personal struggle to dedicated support

My journey to creating Black Sheep to Belonging is deeply personal. From childhood, I endured physical, sexual, mental, and alcohol abuse within my family and their friends. This led to neglect, blame, gaslighting, anxiety, loneliness, unhealthy relationships, second guessing myself, homelessness, a feeling of not being accepted, social awkwardness, chronic pain, and ultimately, losing everything. I had no one to turn to who understood because they didn't see behind our closed doors.

Finding strength in difficult choices

I made the difficult decision to leave my entire family, including cousins, aunts, uncles and friends to remove myself from the toxic cycle of hurt and heartache. I knew I would never be heard with the toxicity of family lies hovering over me. This was not an easy path, and I struggle daily to fit in. However, these experiences have given me a strong and clear outlook on abuse and pain, fostering a deep empathy for others in similar situations.

My unique way of supporting you

When someone comes to me feeling isolated, lonely, or simply needing a friend to talk to, my primary focus is to listen. I offer input on situations, provide suggestions, and share what I've learned from my own experiences. I aim to offer kind and inspirational words, creating a safe space for you to vent and feel understood. My approach is rooted in lived experience, not just textbook knowledge.

"Their lived experience brings an invaluable depth to their advice. It’s like talking to a friend who truly gets it."
